Blessed to Be a Blessing
On July 24, 2020 our church, in partnership with Blessings of Hope, provided tons of food to those who could benefit from such an outreach. A conversation between Pastor Willford and a leader from Blessings of Hope lead to this opportunity to be a blessing to our neighbors. We are very much aware of the food insecurity many families are faced with as a result of the ravages of COVID-19 on our economy. With school closed and parents working from home or not at all, those facing hunger are a growing concern.
We are appreciative of this partnership as we follow our biblical teaching to provide for the needy (James 2:14 - 18). This endeavor enabled us to feed many within our church and surrounding community with the fruits, vegetables and milk that were donated by Blessings of Hope. “Blessings of Hope is a food distribution warehouse set up to allow large food distributors to efficiently donate their excess product to impact the community.” Serving as a food bank, it provides a resourceful way for surplus products to positively impact communities and feed the hungry.
Putting their faith to work, several of our members braved the 90+ degree day to assist in the distribution. Our thanks and recognition go out to members of the Pastor’s Aide – Sis. Felisa Green, Sis. Mary Carter, Sis. Martha Jones, and Sis. Sharon Moore. We also thank Bro. Joe Mincer, Jr., Bro. Darren Moore, Bro. Michael Drew, Sr. and Rev. Damon Randall. Job well done!
We are blessed to be a blessing!
